How to get a PTE score report
Pearson issues the score report after a centre test. A practice site cannot.
Certificate means the Pearson report
Searchers who want a PTE certificate want the document an institution will download or accept. That document comes from Pearson after you sit the test at a secure centre. PTEGRO cannot generate it. A practice percentage is not a score report and should not be uploaded as one.
Which report you get
PTE Academic and PTE Academic UKVI produce a score report with communicative and enabling scores from 10 to 90. PTE Core produces the Core report used against the levels named on Canadian forms. PTE Home A1, A2 and B1 produce a pass or fail at that level, not a 10–90 certificate. The names look similar. The documents are not interchangeable.
The sequence
Check the form. Create the Pearson account. Book the exact product. Take the identity document you registered. Sit the test. Download the report from the Pearson account when it is released. Academic results are often within a few days. Home results are typically within a few working days. Use Pearson’s own status page if a result is late.
What practice is for
Practice is how you walk in able to finish the items. It is not the certificate. Use it to learn the timers, the email word band, and the speaking tasks. Then sit the real test if the institution asked for it.

Names people mix up
Candidates say certificate, scorecard, score report and result email as if they were the same file. The file an institution asks to verify is the Pearson score report for the product you sat. A screenshot of a practice app, a course completion PDF, or an unofficial mock is not that file. Uploading one can delay an application. It cannot replace the centre result.
UKVI bookings produce the report used where a Secure English Language Test is required. A non-UKVI Academic report may be useless on that form even if the tasks felt identical. Core and Home produce their own results. Download the file that matches the booking.
After the test
Watch the Pearson account, not a practice login. Results are often quick, and late results should be checked on Pearson’s status, not on a forum. Send the report the way the institution asks: a code, a download, or a direct verification. Some universities verify with Pearson and do not need a printed page. A paper copy is not more official than the account file if the institution wants the code.
What to do while you wait
Do not book a second test before the first report arrives unless a deadline forces it. Use the wait to rest. If you already know a section failed, drill that section, but do not treat a practice percentage as the result you are about to receive. The certificate, in ordinary language, is the Pearson report. Everything else is preparation.
Keep the file
Download the Pearson report when it appears and store a copy. Institutions sometimes ask again months later. The account is the source, and a saved copy saves a morning. Do not edit the PDF. An altered file fails verification. If a name is wrong, use Pearson’s correction route before you send it. Practice sites cannot correct a Pearson booking.
Until that file exists, say you are preparing, not that you have a PTE certificate. The distinction matters on an application form. Preparation is this site’s job. The report is Pearson’s job after the centre test.
Use the article, then the timer
Read this once, then sit a timed set the same day. An article that never becomes a microphone attempt will not change a score. Note the cut-off, the product name, and the item type you missed. Return to the matching practice path: Academic or UKVI for the two-hour paper, Core for the email paper, and the short speaking drill only if the form says Home. Keep the Pearson report separate from any practice check. The article explains the choice. The centre test is the only result an institution can verify.
