PTE in Vietnam

Why Vietnamese candidates choose PTE for overseas study.

Vietnam is among the nationalities more often seen in PTE centres. The reason is study abroad: Australia, the UK, Canada and other campuses that publish PTE Academic on their English-test list. Candidates compare it with IELTS because both appear on many offer letters. The computer sitting is the usual reason to pick PTE. Speaking is recorded. Results are often quicker. The score is 10 to 90, and the offer’s floor still applies. A candidate in Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City does not get a local pass mark. Academic is the default study booking. UKVI is for a UK SELT line. Core is for forms that name Core, often Canadian. Home is not a student test. Coaching that only teaches the essay misses Repeat Sentence and dictation, which affect more than one skill. Prepare the current Academic tasks, including Summarize Group Discussion and Respond to a Situation. Then book Pearson when practice checks clear the offer. This site’s percentage is a practice check, not the report.

How to prepare in Vietnam

Write the product name and the cut-off before the first drill. Academic and UKVI share the two-hour task list, including Summarize Group Discussion and Respond to a Situation. Core uses Write Email. Home, where a UK family form names it, is a different pass-or-fail test. Spend the first week on Read Aloud, Repeat Sentence and Write from Dictation. Add the long writing task in week two. Sit one timed mock a week. Book the Pearson centre only when those checks sit above the required floor.

PTEGRO is independent practice for candidates in Vietnam and everywhere else. It stores progress in the browser, not in an account. It does not book the test and it does not issue a score report or a certificate. Pearson does that after the sitting. Use the article to choose the paper, then open practice for that paper only.

What the booking does and does not prove

A PTE booking proves you paid Pearson for a centre seat. It does not prove an offer, a visa, or a professional licence. Those bodies publish their own lists. Before you pay, save the page that names the test and the score. If that page says IELTS only, PTE will not be read. If it says PTE Academic 65 with no skill under 58, that pair of numbers is the target. A higher practice day does not replace a missing floor.

Centres differ by city, not by the score scale. A 10 to 90 Academic report from one Pearson room is the same kind of file as a report from another room. What changes is the product. Academic, Academic UKVI, Core and Home produce different documents. Take the identity document you registered, and do not ask a practice login for the result. The result appears in the Pearson account.

A four-week local plan

Week one is Read Aloud and Repeat Sentence, recorded and played back. Week two adds Write from Dictation and the summary for your paper. Academic summary is one sentence. Core summary is 25 to 50 words. Week three is the long writing task: the essay for Academic, the email for Core. Week four is two timed mocks on different days, with every miss rewritten the same afternoon. Home candidates should not follow this Academic plan. They need the Home tasks named on their form.

Stop the week before the test. Sleep, check the ID, and review only the item type you still miss. After the report, compare each skill with the floor. A second booking should change that skill, not repeat the same unread mock.

After the result

Download the Pearson report and send it the way the institution asks, usually a score code or a direct check. Keep a copy. Do not edit the file. If the floor is missed, book again only after a fresh timed mock clears that same floor. If the product was wrong, the next fee should be the product on the form, not a repeat of the same sitting. Practice stays useful only when it matches that product. The country you sit in does not change this sequence.
